@lomocan – continued-the stuff she learns in school (good or bad) gives me opportunity to have communication about things like economics, history, politics, etc. We view LOTS of documentaries regarding many issues. Some books she has read are: Lies My Teacher Taught Me, Censored News Stories (published by calendar year), the classics like Asimov, Orwell, Zinn, etc, etc…
We may not agree about everything, but the dialogue and intake needs to be there for critical thinking purposes.
@lomocan – My daughter does go to a well funded public school (and I say well funded, because she gets the benefit of art, music and other programs my broke-ass school system couldnt afford when I was young.
That being said, we talk alot about the things she is taught in school. Some of it good-some utter crap…and lots of outdated information, politically correct (her teachers hands are tied, and seem relieved when she blurts out the off color truth among her peers)… continued…

That's why I've said "I HOPE", I wasn't sure about which way you were leaning because I've seen people on here who go "this is what needs to be taught in public schools" but don't realize why it will never be; anyways, its great to know that you understand importance of decentralized, private schooling

I'd propose a system where all banks are private & them accepting Gold-Certificates from Treasury worth 1gram, 5gram, 0.5gram etc for depositing gold with Treasury & in turn GCs will become US currency thru banks; people'll use both gold & GCs as universal media-of-exchange; at withdrawl banks will turn in GCs to Treasury for gold at depositors' behest; all the gold with Treasury will be stored at centralized location & "suspension of specie" by banks should be unconstitutional
